Legislators Learn About Home Care During Home Visits

Each year during National Home Care Month in November, Cambridge Home Health Care invites legislators to visit a patient and caregiver to see firsthand what a difference home health care makes in people's lives. Since 1998, sixty-four State and United States legislators have accepted our invitation and met with our patients and staff in the patients' homes.

Spotlight on our Staff

Juanita Lefloria-Bogard (at left in photo) began her home health career in 1998 when she signed up for a Home Health Aide training class. She cared for many patients, "adopting" them and their families in her heart so much so that she wanted to learn more to help them and so continued her education with State Tested Nurse's Aide classes. "I learned to be patient during someone's last days and hours on this earth, to sit and speak or sing softly and hold their hand. My experience as an aide for six years is something that I will never forget."

Juanita Lefloria-Bogard and Amie Betz
Juanita came into the Beachwood office of Cambridge Home Health Care as a Scheduling Supervisor and then was promoted to Branch Manager of the Akron office. "Being able to work on both sides of home care has been a wonderful and enriching experience for me. I have grown a lot over the past several years to be more compassionate, loving and giving and I will continue to learn and teach others on my journey in home health care."

Amie Betz (at right in photo) began as a Home Health Aide seven years ago with Cambridge Home Health Care because she was looking for a change from working in a nursing home. Amie wanted to have the one on one time and care with patients that she was missing.

Amie's outstanding patient care and commitment made her a natural selection for the Elyria Home Health Aide of the Year in 2000. Within just a few months, Amie came into the Elyria office part time to do the payroll and billing while still continuing to care for patients. Amie was next promoted to Scheduling Supervisor, then Assistant Branch Manager and now is the Branch Manager of the Elyria office.

Katie Miller

Senior Care Specialist
and 2006 Home Health Aide
of the Year - Wooster Branch
Amie shares that what she loved most about being a home health aide was the relationship with her patients, and that now what she enjoys most as a Branch Manager is the rapport with the aides.

Katie Miller is a Senior Care Specialist with our Wooster branch. The office staff share that Katie has a contagious smile and will travel anywhere she is needed within Wayne County to care for patients. Katie shares that what she most enjoys about home health care is, "Home is where the heart is, so making sure my clients are comfortable and safe is rewarding in itself."

Katie was recognized as the 2006 Wooster Branch Home Health Aide of the Year for her outstanding patient care. Katie joined us in 2005 as a Home Health Aide and was promoted in 2006 to the position of Senior Care Specialist.
